Stanislaw (Stan) Stopa

Stanislaw (Stan) Stopa was born April 28, 1961 and fell asleep in the Lord February 25, 2026.

Stan was born in Poland to Marian and Irena Stopa but was raised by his maternal grandparents Jozef and Paraskiewva Wolanowski.

Stan met Halina in 1979 and they were married in 1982. They were blessed with 2 sons Rafal and Dariusz. They all immigrated to Canada in 1989.

Stan worked many jobs during his lifetime, including roofing, mining and Healthcare Aide. Stan attended Red River College while working as a Healthcare Aide at St. Boniface Hospital, Holy Family and Luther Nursing Homes. He completed both Electrical and Power Engineering Certificates and was employed by many northern mines including Thompson and Bissett, Yukon and Greenland.

Stan is survived by his loving wife of 43 years Halina; sons Rafal and Derek. He is also survived by Rafal's children Bryce, Blake, Alexa and Wyatt and Derek's children Carter and Nikki who he was helping to raise. He is also survived by 3 sisters and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews all in Poland. Stan will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.

Funeral service will be Saturday, March 7, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at the Blessed Virgin Mary Church Rossdale, 530 Donald Road, Lockport, MB, R1A 3K4. The service can be livestreamed via the following link https://youtu.be/D5ghlNG_l3Q
